Fees and Forms

If you have been scheduled for a counseling appointment with Claudia Carballal Counseling, go to the Secure Client Portal to complete the forms required and add payment information.

If you are not sure if counseling is right for you or you are interested in a free 15 minutes consultation with me, email me or call me at (214) 663-1591  or  (469) 392-4490

The first step to start your counseling process is to schedule an appointment. You will then receive access to the Secure Client Portal where you will complete intake documents and consent forms. You will be asked to provide payment information. For your convenience, your payment information is stored in HIPPA compliant software and is not accessible by any member of the counseling practice.

My standard fee is $80 per session for all types of counseling. Counseling sessions typically last 50 minutes. Occasionally I work with a sliding scale based on financial necessity.

Clients can cancel previously scheduled sessions provided 24 hours notice has been given. Otherwise, I charge for missed or cancelled appointments at the last minute— outside of the 24 hour period cancellation requirement . The late cancellation fee is the cost agreed upon for the session that was previously scheduled. The late cancellation fee can be waived a few times for an emergency, illness, or special circumstance.

I do not take insurance at the moment, but can provide an invoice with codes that would make filing for yourself easier. Insurance companies require a diagnosis before reimbursement. Some people may chose not to file for insurance coverage in order to prevent a diagnosis being added to their medical records. Although a mental health diagnosis should not be stigmatized, the decision to file for coverage is yours.

An initial intake session will be scheduled for us to meet. During this session you and I will discuss your counseling goals or concerns in more detail. Please complete the intake paperwork available at the Secure Client Portal in advance to your first session.  During the intake session, I will explain the intake forms (informed consent, counseling agreement, etc.) in more detail and answer any questions you might have. The intake forms are not optional; they are required by law before we can start counseling sessions. I appreciate the time you take to complete them thoroughly.

After the intake session, we should be ready to start counseling sessions. Counseling is most effective when it is done every week for one hour. I suggest that you consider counseling as precious time for your health and well-being, a time where you can disconnect and focus on what you need and what you want to accomplish. Setting aside one hour, one day of the week, is a great practice to keep you focus on your counseling or coaching goals.

I look forward to hearing from you! Counseling can feel intimidating, so I commend you for your desire to understand yourself better, go deeper, and improve your life and human relationships.
