The Counseling Process

FREE 15-MINUTES CONSULTATION

Maybe you're not sure if counseling is right for you. You can start by calling (214) 663-1591 or e-mailing me requesting a free 15-minutes consultation. Please note that I don't answer phone calls immediately. When you call, please leave a detailed message with your name and phone number so I can return your call. I will send you a link to book a time that works best for you directly on my calendar.

When I call you back, I will listen to your concerns and determine the best course of action.  If it is determined that I am not the best fit for you, I will provide you with the necessary referrals to someone who can address your needs. If it is determined that we are a good fit for each other, you can start the Intake Process.

INATKE PROCESS

An intake session will be scheduled for us to meet. During this session you and I will discuss your counseling goals or concerns in more detail. Please complete the intake paperwork available at the Secure Client Portal in advance to your intake session.  During the intake session, I will explain the intake forms (informed consent, counseling agreement, etc.) in more detail and answer any questions you might have. The intake forms are not optional; they are required by law before we can start counseling sessions. I appreciate the time you take to complete them thoroughly. To access the intake forms go to our FEES & FORMS page.

COUNSELING SESSIONS

After the intake session, we should be ready to start counseling sessions. Counseling is most effective when it is done every week for one hour. I suggest that you consider counseling as precious time for your health and well-being, a time where you can disconnect and focus on what you need and what you want to accomplish. Setting aside one hour, one day of the week, is a great practice to keep you focus on your counseling or coaching goals.

I look forward to hearing from you! Counseling can feel intimidating, so I commend you for your desire to understand yourself better, go deeper, and improve your life and human relationships.

Sincerely,

Claudia Carballal, M.S., LPC-Associate
